Decodable Sentences
Decodable Sentences is a phonics activity where students practise reading randomly generated decodable sentences. Great for building fluency, blending skills, and reading confidence.
How do I access Decodable Sentences?
You can access Decodable Sentences in three ways:

Through Teach Mode - open Decodable Sentences directly from the bottom bar of Teach Mode.

- From the Apps library - browse or search for Decodable Sentences in the Apps library, or filter by Literacy.

- In your slide deck - search for Decodable Sentences by clicking on Apps > Decodable Sentences.

How do I use Decodable Sentences?
- Tap Start to generate a random decodable sentence.

- Students read the sentence together or independently. Tap again to get a new sentence.

How do I choose which sentences appear?
- You can filter the sentences by phonics pattern. Choose from:
- CVC - sentences using consonant-vowel-consonant words
- CVCC, CCVC & CCVCC - sentences using words with blends

- You can select one or both patterns. When selected, you can narrow it further by choosing specific vowel sounds, specific letters, or both.


- You can also turn on additional phonics categories:
- Consonant Digraphs
- Long Vowels
- Diphthongs
- R-controlled Vowels
- Consonant Phonemes
- Short vowel phonemes

- Tap the arrow next to each category to expand it and select individual sounds.
- To go back to the default settings, tap Reset.

You can add Decodable Sentences to your favourite apps by tapping the star icon.
