Flash Cards

Flash Cards displays random words, phrases, or maths expressions one at a time - great for quick-fire practice, warm-ups, and fluency drills.

How do I access Flash Cards?

You can access Flash Cards in three ways:

• Through Teach Mode - open Flash Cards directly from the bottom bar of Teach Mode.

  

• From the Apps library - browse or search for Flash Cards in the Apps library.

• In your slide deck - search for Flash Cards by clicking on Apps > Flash Cards.

How do I use Flash Cards?

When you open the app, choose where your flashcard content comes from. There are three word sources:

• Hive Built-in - select a phonics category and expand it to see the sounds within. The app will generate words based on your selection.

  

• My Word Bank - pick from your existing word banks, or tap Edit Word Banks to create a new one.

  

• Maths Expressions - set a minimum and maximum number, choose which operations to include (Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division), and add special operations if needed.

  

Once you've chosen your source, the app will display random cards one at a time. Tap to cycle through to the next card.

Can I write on the flashcards?

Yes - turn on Annotations to draw directly on the flashcards. This is handy for circling sounds, underlining tricky parts, or having students write their answers on the board.

Tips

• You can add Flash Cards to your favourite apps by tapping the star icon.
