Decodable Images
Decodable Images is a phonics activity where students look at an image and figure out the decodable word it represents. Tap to reveal the answer - great for practising decoding, blending, and building phonics confidence.
How do I access Decodable Images?
You can access Decodable Images in three ways:

Through Teach Mode - open Decodable Images directly from the bottom bar of Teach Mode.

From the Apps library - browse or search for Decodable Images in the Apps library, or filter by Literacy.

In your slide deck - search for Decodable Images by clicking on Apps > Decodable Images.

How do I use Decodable Images?
Tap Start to generate a random image. Students look at the image and try to figure out the decodable word. When you're ready, tap Reveal to uncover the word.


How do I choose which words appear?
You can filter the words by phonics pattern. Choose from:
- CVC
- CVCC & CCVC
- CCVCC
- Consonant Digraphs
- Long Vowels
- Diphthongs
- R-controlled Vowels
- Consonant Phonemes
You can select one, two, or all three patterns. When selected, you can narrow it further by choosing specific vowel sounds, specific letters, or both.

Tap the arrow next to each category to expand it and select individual sounds.

To go back to the default settings, tap Reset.

Tips
- You can add Decodable Images to your favourite apps by tapping the star icon.
