Abacus
The Abacus is an interactive tool for exploring arithmetic, colours, and pattern recognition with your class. Slide the beads across each row to count, add, subtract, and build number sense.
How do I access the Abacus?
You can access the Abacus in three ways:
- Through Teach Mode - open the Abacus directly from the bottom bar of Teach Mode.

- From the Apps library - browse or search for Abacus in the Apps library, or filter by Mathematics.

- In your slide deck - search for Abacus in the apps panel on the right and tap it to drop it onto your slide.

How do I use the Abacus?
Slide the beads on each row to move them left or right. Each row has 10 beads, and you can use them to demonstrate counting, addition, subtraction, or patterns.
On the left panel (if access via App Library), you'll find these settings:
- Rows - set how many rows to display using the + and − buttons (minimum 1, maximum 10).
- Apply palette -choose a colour palette for the beads.
- Reveal all rows - tap this to show the bead count for each row.
- Hide all rows - tap this to hide the bead count for each row.

To hide the settings panel and go full screen, tap the settings icon in the top-left corner. This gives your class a clean view of just the beads.
