Student Grouper
The Student Grouper is a tool designed to help you form groups for your students. You can choose group size, add any separation rules, and then the selection is randomly made for you.
To use the Student Grouper app, you first need to create and select a class from the Students tab in the left-hand menu. Read how to add students to your class here.
It can also be added as a tool in the advanced slide in your Slide Deck. However, it will not automatically sync with the app. Make sure to choose one that is most suitable to your needs.
1. From the Dashboard left-hand side menu click on Apps.
2. Search, filter by Classroom, or find the app tile in the list. Click on Student Grouper.
3. Click the 'Close Menu' button at the bottom left of the screen to enter the full screen.
4. If you have multiple classes, be sure to select the correct class before starting the grouping process.
5. You can choose from three grouping methods: "Split into," "Groups of," or "Use group set."
6. Indicate the number of groups you need by clicking the "-" or "+" buttons.
7. Enable grouping rules by checking the box to centrally manage combinations of students who shouldn't be placed in the same group. To manage or add these rules, click on "Learn more."
8. You can customize the grouping colors by selecting from the available options.
9. Ensure all students are included by checking this checklist.
10. If you haven't created any group sets, click "Create Some." Group sets help you manage different types of groups within your classes. For instance, you might have one group set for "Reading Groups" and another for "Maths Groups."
11. Click 'Connect to Timetable' to link the app with your timetable entries.
12. Click the pin icon to add the app to your pinned apps on the dashboard.
