Beedle
Beedle is a word-guessing game inspired by Wordle. Students have 6 attempts to guess the hidden word — great for phonics practice, spelling, and vocabulary in a fun, game-based format.
How do I access Beedle?
You can access Beedle in three ways:
- Through Teach Mode — open Beedle directly from the bottom bar of Teach Mode.

- From the Apps library — browse or search for Beedle in the Apps library.

- In your slide deck — search for Beedle in the apps panel on the right and tap it to drop it onto your slide. From there, you can move and resize it however you like.

How do I use Beedle?
Setting the word
You can choose the word in two ways:
- Get word — tap Get word to generate a random word based on your selected filters. Tap it again to get a different word.
- Type your own — type directly into the Solution field to enter any word you'd like students to guess.
Tap the eye icon next to the Solution field to reveal or hide the word — useful for checking the word before students start guessing.
Tap Restart to clear the board and start a new round with the same word, or set a new word first.

Making guesses
Students type or tap letters on the on-screen keyboard to spell out a guess, then tap Enter to submit it. Each guess must be a complete word matching the length of the solution.
After each guess, the tiles change colour to show how close the guess was:
- Green — the letter is correct and in the right position.
- Yellow — the letter is in the word but in the wrong position.
- Grey — the letter is not in the word.

How do I choose which words are generated?
Tap Edit filters to open the words database and choose which phonics categories can appear in randomly generated words. You can filter by:
- CVC
- CVCC & CCVC
- CCVCC
- Consonant Digraphs
- Long Vowels
- Diphthongs
- R-controlled Vowels
- Consonant Phonemes
Tap Get word from selection to generate a word from your chosen filters.
