Hundred Square

Hundred Square is an interactive number grid where students can colour numbers, hide them, and explore number patterns. Use the built-in number prompt to challenge your class with random numbers - great for counting, skip counting, number recognition, and mental maths.

How do I access Hundred Square?

You can access Hundred Square in three ways:

Through Teach Mode - open Hundred Square directly from the bottom bar of Teach Mode.

From the Apps library - browse or search for Hundred Square in the Apps library, or filter by Mathematics.

In your slide deck - you can add the Hundred Square App by clicking Apps > Type Class > Hundred Square App.

How do I use Hundred Square?

Tap any number on the grid to apply a colour to it.

Double-tap a number to hide it completely.

You can choose the highlight colour from the colour options in the settings panel.

How do I customise the grid?

Ascending / Descending - choose whether the numbers count up or down.
Grid size - adjust how many numbers are displayed on the grid (minimum 10, maximum 200).
Starting number - set which number the sequence starts from.
Auto-hide - choose from preset patterns to automatically hide certain numbers on the grid. Great for skip counting activities or number pattern challenges.

How do I use the Number Prompt?

Turn on Number Prompt to challenge your class with random numbers. Once turned on, tap Pick to generate a random number - students then find and tap that number on the grid.

You can customise the number prompt with these settings:

Min / Max - set the range for random numbers (minimum 1, maximum 100).
Multiples - set the random numbers to be multiples of a specific number.
Prompt type - choose from three types:
Find - students find the number on the grid.
Add - students add the prompted number to a starting number.
Subtract - students subtract the prompted number from a starting number.

Close the settings panel to give your class a fuller view of the grid.

Tips

You can add Hundred Square to your favourite apps by tapping the star icon.
