How do I add images to my slides?

You can add images to your slides as foreground objects that can be moved, resized, and layered with other content.

Inserting an image

  1. Open the Insert tab in the right sidebar (or press Shift+I)

  1. Click Image in the Media section
  2. Browse images from the built-in Hive image library, your existing uploads, or upload a new image.

  1. Select an image to insert it onto the current slide.

The image will appear on your slide, ready to be moved and resized.

Resizing and positioning

  • Move: Click and drag the image to reposition it on the slide
  • Resize: Drag any corner handle to resize the image (the aspect ratio is preserved)
  • Rotate: Use the rotation handle near the corners to rotate it

Layering images with other content

When images overlap with other objects, you can control which appears on top:

  1. Select the image
  2. Right-click and choose Arrange, or use the top bar Actions menu
  3. Choose from:
    • Bring to front: Move the image above all other objects
    • Bring forward: Move the image one layer up
    • Send backward: Move the image one layer down
    • Send to back: Move the image behind all other objects (but still in front of the slide background)

Tips

  • Supported image formats include PNG, JPG, and GIF (including animated GIFs)
  • If you want an image as the full slide background instead of a foreground object, see the "How do I change the background of a slide?" help article
  • Use the Lock option on the floating toolbar to prevent accidentally moving an image once it's positioned
