How do I align and arrange objects on my slides?
The slides editor provides alignment, distribution, reordering, grouping, and locking tools to help you arrange objects precisely on your slides.
Aligning objects
Select two or more objects, then use the alignment options in the actions menu:
| Alignment | What it does |
|---|---|
| Align left | Lines up the left edges of all selected objects |
| Align centre | Centres objects horizontally |
| Align right | Lines up the right edges |
| Align top | Lines up the top edges |
| Align middle | Centres objects vertically |
| Align bottom | Lines up the bottom edges |

To select multiple objects, click the first object, then hold Shift and click each additional object. Or drag a selection box around the objects you want.
Distributing objects evenly
When you have three or more objects selected, additional distribution options appear:
- Distribute horizontal: Spaces objects evenly from left to right
- Distribute vertical: Spaces objects evenly from top to bottom

This is perfect for creating evenly-spaced rows or columns of content.
Reordering layers
When objects overlap, you can control which appears on top:
- Select the object you want to reorder
- Open the actions menu
- Choose from:
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Bring to front | Move above all other objects |
| Bring forward | Move one layer up |
| Send backward | Move one layer down |
| Send to back | Move behind all other objects (but stays in front of the slide background) |

You can select multiple objects to reorder them in bulk.
Grouping objects
Group objects together so they move and resize as a single unit:
- Select the objects you want to group
- Press Ctrl+G (Cmd+G on Mac), or open the menu and choose Group

To ungroup, select the group and press Ctrl+Shift+G (Cmd+Shift+G on Mac), or choose Ungroup from the menu.
Locking objects
Lock objects in place to prevent accidentally moving them while editing:
- Select the object
- Click the Lock button on the floating toolbar, or use the menu
Locked objects cannot be moved or resized until unlocked, but some objects, like apps, have content within that remains interactive even when locked.
Locking is particularly useful for elements like backgrounds, titles, or apps that you've positioned precisely.
To unlock, select the locked object and click Unlock.

You can also Unlock All from the hamburger menu to unlock every object on the slide at once. Or, select all, right click, and choose Unlock.
Tips
- Use Select All (Ctrl+A / Cmd+A) to quickly select everything on the current slide
- Grouping is great for complex layouts that you want to move together, such as a title + subtitle + description combinations
