How do I create my Weekly Routine?
Firstly - what is the Weekly Routine?
Think of your Weekly Routine as a baseline template for each day of the week. Your cycle can be weekly, fortnightly (with Week A and Week B) or whatever other duration that your school uses. It includes two parts:
Timetable - the regular subjects/activities that you do each day.
Within the Weekly Routine, you create a typical timetable for each day of your routine, adding in your regular activities with their default connections.
Then, you can save time setting up your weekly timetable by duplicating the content from your Weekly Routine in a single click! If you need, you can then make any edits you might need for the day.
Don't worry if a particular day is very different to what you've defined in your Weekly Routine. You can still start from scratch or copy from another date instead.
Slide Decks - the default slide decks that you would like to access each day in your cycle.
Simply create your slide decks, and then add them to your Weekly Routine on whichever days you'd like to see them.
They'll always be available in your dashboard for fast access!
One way that you might like to use slide decks in the Weekly Routine is to add a different daily routine deck for each day of the week. Then, you can tweak those slides as the term goes on to add or change content. You won't need to do anything else to make it available in your dashboard on the right day!
- From the left hand side menu press 'Weekly Routine'.

By default, your Weekly Routine will be empty until you add your subjects.
- Set your term dates.

The Hive uses your term dates to identify the correct day in your Weekly Routine and track the current week.
- If you need to update your existing term, simply click 'Edit term dates' to select or replace them with a new set of common dates.

Note: Term dates are based on the public school calendar for each state in Australia and New Zealand. If your region isn't listed, you can choose a similar option or start with an empty year and manually enter your dates.
- If your school operates on a fortnightly (or longer) schedule, you can add more weeks. Simply click '+ Add week'.

- Add timetable entries for each day by clicking 'Subject.'

Read more on how to edit/add subjects here.
- If your daily schedules are similar with only slight adjustments, you can easily duplicate them by clicking the three-dot menu (⋮) next to the day.

- If you wish to connect apps, links, or decks to your routine, just expand the subject and click the plug icon.

Any connections added to your Weekly Routine will automatically appear when you generate your weekly timetable.
- To start fresh, click the menu icon (three lines) at the top right and select 'Delete Week'.

- To generate your weekly plan, which will automatically update your daily timetables, go to 'Week' and click 'Generate week'.

Note: If your weekly routine has already been set up, clicking 'Generate week' will only copy the weekly routine entries to the empty days.
- Quickly navigate between weeks using the dropdown menu showing your current term's weeks.

- If you want to jump ahead to a different term, switch to 'Term' view, then click on any day or a week within that term.

Note: Changes to your weekly routine will not automatically update your existing daily or weekly plans. If you wish, you can delete all entries to create a fresh setup.
