How do I use the slide deck template?

The Hive slide deck offers a wide range of features, allowing you to add various tools, lists, apps, and single slides tailored for classroom use. We've created a sample morning template to get you started.

As a new user, you'll find the sample morning routine slide deck readily accessible on the Dashboard. You can edit it directly from there. If you'd like to create a new slide deck, you can make one from scratch or use this same template.

  1. Click the edit button next to the slide name to make changes. You can also close the menu for more breathing space.

  1. In edit mode, you can: rename the slide deck, rename individual slides, add new slides, and access advanced features for more functionality.

Renaming your slide deck and slides

To rename the entire slide deck, edit the text box on the left. To rename individual slides, modify the text box on the right.

Note: Only basic and advanced slides can be renamed. Apps and tools added as single slides will retain their original names.

Adding new slides

Simply click '+ New Slide' to explore a variety of tools, settings, slides, and apps that you can add to your slide deck. Learn about the different slides here.

  1. Click 'Connect to Timetable' and select whether to link it to a specific day's timetable or set it as a default option—the slide will be accessible each time you use the option in your timetable.

Note: This sample morning routine is already set as an always-available deck. To set a slide deck as default for specific days or to remove it from your daily view, read more here.

  1. To maximise the screen, make sure to hit 'Full screen' on the left side menu, close the menu, and click 'Presentation Mode'. Also collapse the timetable if you want more breathing space.
