Frayer Model
The Frayer Model is a digital graphic organiser that lets you build, customise, and annotate four-quadrant templates with your class. It's perfect for vocabulary lessons, maths concepts, and any topic where students need to explore definitions, characteristics, examples, and non-examples.
How do I access Frayer Model?
You can access Frayer Model in two ways:
- Through Teach Mode — open Frayer Model directly from the bottom bar of Teach Mode.

- From the Apps library — browse or search for Frayer Model in the Apps library.

How do I use Frayer Model?
When you open Frayer Model, a four-quadrant layout appears on screen with a topic bubble in the centre. The default quadrant labels are Definition, Characteristics, Examples, and Non-Examples — but you can change these to suit any lesson.
Editing titles and the topic
Tap any quadrant label or the centre topic bubble to edit the text directly. Rename them to whatever fits your lesson — for example, swap "Definition" for "My definition" or replace the quadrant headings entirely.

Templates
Use the left panel to manage your templates:
- Template name — tap the name field to rename your current template.
- New template — tap + New template to create a fresh layout. Save multiple versions for different classes, subjects, or topics.

Palette
Choose a colour palette from the left panel to change the look of your Frayer Model.

Drawing tools
A toolbar runs along the bottom of the screen with tools for Interact, Annotate, and Shapes. Use these to write, draw, and add shapes directly onto the model — great for modelling with students or annotating during a discussion. If you don't need the toolbar, you can hide it by tapping the eye icon on the left-hand side panel.

Annotation options
The right panel gives you control over how shapes and annotations look:
- Fill — choose a solid, light, or dark fill for shapes.
- Line style — pick from solid, dashed, or no outline.
- Size — set annotation size to Small, Medium, or Large.
- Font — choose from three font styles.
- Colour — select a colour for your shapes or annotations.
Grid and snapping
Tap the ≡ menu icon in the top-left corner to access layout options:
- Show grid — turn on a dot grid to help with spacing and alignment.
- Always snap — turn on snapping so shapes align neatly to the grid.

Exporting
To save or share your Frayer Model, tap the ≡ menu icon and select Export as. Choose your preferred file format from the options available.
