How do I add my own videos?
In order to allow The Hive to link to files stored locally on your computer, you must install a third-party browser extension for Google Chrome that can do this.
There is more information about this in the Consent Information screen within the Links page.
If you do not use Google Chrome with this extension installed, you will not be able to open files that are on your computer directly from The Hive.
- Press on Content from the left-hand side menu.
- To filter your content, click the arrow next to the 'Content' label to expand the options.
- Click on Links to see all your links.
- While you can't upload videos directly, you can use the "Link" option to share your resources. Click on "Create Item" and choose "Link".
- Press on From your computer.
- If you haven't done so already, read and accept the consent information about the requirement to install a third-party extension.
- If you haven't already done so, follow the in-app instructions to install a third-party local links extension.
- Name your link.
- Copy the path of your file from your computer and paste it to the Local file path box. To learn how to do this, click on "I'm on a Mac" or "I'm on Windows", depending on your operating system.
- Click on "Link to file" to create the link.
- You can check out the Links you created under the Items list.
You can also embed a YouTube video directly into a slide deck or add it as a web link. Click here for more information.
